Earlier this week, Republicans in the US Senate blocked a proposal to provide emergency aid to Ukraine. This came after a bitter dispute between Republicans and Democrats in the country, at a time when there is controversy in several Western countries about more support for the country.
On Sunday, major newspapers broadcast BBC Exclusive interview with First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

AVIZA published excerpts of the interview in which the First Lady appeals to the world to continue supporting the war-torn country.
The BBC wrote that Zelenska warned that Ukrainians were in “mortal danger” and would be left for dead if Western countries did not continue to support her.
The aid proposal, which was voted down in the United States, would have given Ukraine more than $60 billion. This is equivalent to more than 650 billion Norwegian kroner.
– If the world gets tired, they will simply let us die, says Zielinska in the interview.
Moreover, she says it is a matter of life and it pains her to see signs that the desire to help may disappear.
Here in Norway, the discussion is also about supporting Ukraine.
Venstre leader Juri Melby expressed concern about the situation on Saturday.

The situation in Ukraine is very dangerous and there are indications that Putin’s forces are making gains on the ground. Ukraine is not getting enough equipment and is not getting enough ammunition. If the Ukrainians don’t get more support, they will lose, is Melby’s clear warning.
In an interview with German TV channel ARD last weekend, Jens Stoltenberg said that the world should be prepared for bad news from the Ukrainian front, but stressed the importance of support.
