Seven-year-old William Ellis was killed on Wednesday 13 December in the New South Wales town of Balranald.

The boy received medical attention at the scene before being taken to hospital. However, it was not possible to save life.

A 43-year-old man was arrested following the incident. The police will not comment on the tragedy at this time.

“We will always remember you as an extraordinary boy who always radiated joy,” a family friend writes on a memorial page.

William has five siblings, his father is Sean and his mother is Kylie Reid. Following the fatal accident, she spoke to several Australian media outlets.

– William was the golden boy. He always put his arms around me and said he loved me,” Reid tells the News.
