Windows 11 features may stop working due to certificate expiration

We don’t know if you’ve tried this, because we haven’t, but Microsoft warns that Snipping Tool and some other tools won’t work anymore due to the Windows 11 certificate expiring on October 31.

Windows 11 21H2 is affected, but how many are affected?

In addition to the smart screen program, can the following errors:

  • User account and home screen in Settings app (S mode only)
  • Touch keyboard, voice typing and emoji interface
  • IME interface
  • Windows 11 “First Steps and Tips”

If you encounter one or more of these errors, you may have installed this update, KB5006746.
