Lonovo, one of the largest computer manufacturers, presented its new modular device, which belongs to the famous ThinkPad X1 product line. Normally, when we talk about ThinkPad, we mean high-quality business laptops. From now on it’s not only about notebooks, but about tablets as well.
Powered by Intel’s latest-generation Core M7 processor, 12-inch ThinkPad X1 Tablet transforms into a laptop, projector, or 3D camera. This is achieved with help of Productivity Module (increases use up to 15 hours), Projector Module (with pico projector and HDMI port), and 3D Imaging Module (based on Intel RealSense 3D camera). The full size ThinkPad keyboard can be attached as well.
Aimed at business users, the device will have up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM, up to 1TB of SSD storage and a nano-SIM slot for LTE-Advanced cellular connectivity. There is also a USB Type-C port alongside a USB 3.0 port. Operating system is Windows 10.
The ThinkPad X1 Tablet will be available on February from $899. The extended battery module will cost $149, the projector module – $279, the module with 3D-camera will cost $149.
