Late on Friday evening, Liverpool Football Club and Jurgen Klopp had an update on the injury status of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kauimihen Kelleher. The duo was not with the rest of the team for Germany and Austria.

The former injured himself after a shot against Crystal Palace during the Asia Tour, and since then there has been little news about the Englishman. The update that came recently was not good news for him or for Liverpool.

– It will take some time with Oxlade (Chamberlain). It’s a serious hamstring injury and will take longer. It’s hoarding, and we hate to say it, but it happens from time to time and now the bull suffers from such an injury, Klopp said in the second part of Thursday’s press conference.

Well under the road: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was on his way to good shape when the injury occurred just over two weeks ago.

Jurgen Klopp also provided an update regarding Caoimhin Kelleher. Not much has been said about the Irishman’s previous injury, although he was entirely out of the lead up to Liverpool.

– Kawimhen (Kelleher) felt something after the national team matches, and everyone in the medical staff there said he would be awake until the run-up to the match, said the German.

It wasn’t exactly this scenario that became a reality. Kelleher hasn’t been on the grass since an international game in June. Against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday evening, Adrian will be in the Liverpool goal. Allison was also discharged with a minor injury.

– He came back and felt it again during the first training. We checked it out and not everything was as well as Caoimhin thought. It will likely be back in two to three weeks.
