The Norwegian Ski Federation confirms that Maria Therese Tveberg (29 years old) has suffered a serious knee injury. The Mountaineer will miss the rest of the season.

Maria suffered a serious knee injury, but we will not know a final conclusion about the extent of the injury until after investigations conducted by the team here at home in Norway, says sporting director Klaus Johan Riest.

Tveberg fell during the first run of Saturday’s giant slalom in Killington. Tveberg was taken to hospital after his fall.

The Norwegian Ski Association now states that the alpine climber will miss the rest of the season.

– Of course, it is difficult to suffer another knee injury, but I am in good spirits. “I am now on my way home for a more comprehensive examination in cooperation with the Norwegian Ski Association and Olympiatopen medical health team,” says Tveberg.

Tviberg is the parallel slalom world champion. She also participated in obtaining Olympic bronze during team training in 2022.
