London / Oslo (Dagbladet):
In an article published Thursday evening in daily MailThere are exciting details about Erling Braut Haaland’s contract at Manchester City.
The newspaper claims the Norwegian star earns more than £850,000 a week, including bonuses that come in addition to his base salary.
850 thousand pounds equal to 10.3 million Norwegian kroner!
In this case, Haaland gives 44,200,000 pounds annually, which, converting it into Norwegian kroner, gives more than 526 million kroner. With a salary of over half a billion crowns, this clearly makes him the highest paid player in England.
It is understood that the 22-year-old will earn a base salary in line with the other top players at the Etihad Stadium. However, a number of significant and almost guaranteed bonuses increase his annual salary to more than 850 million NOK, according to the Daily Mail.
– He’ll be surprised
The article was written by famous football journalist Mike Keegan, and the Daily Mail, the world’s largest online newspaper, the issue was the main report this evening. It was called “Exclusive” with bold header types.
This amount is causing a stir in England. Before the Europa League match between Arsenal and Bodo/Glimt, Dagbladet met one of England’s most famous football journalists, commentator Henry Winter for The Times.
The article was picked up in the Daily Mail.
– He’s a good journalist who wrote the article, but I don’t know. Manchester City is very reasonable. I know when Raheem Sterling negotiated. Then there was talk that he wanted the same thing as Kevin De Bruyne. His salary is around £375,000 a week.
– So you don’t think that’s true?
– Maybe if he also wins the Melody Grand Prix. Maybe there’s a bonus to that too, I don’t know, winter jokes at first – before you get more serious:
– It was the recognized journalist who wrote the article, we must bear this in mind. But I would be surprised if you voted. Like I said, City is very sane.
Another prominent journalist, Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Haaland earns roughly £375,000 a week, like De Bruyne.
But he did not take bonuses into account.
More than Ronaldo
Haaland was brought to the blue side of Manchester this summer for a sum of around £50m and has been a smash hit since joining the club. For example, he has scored unreal hat-tricks in his last three home matches in the Premier League for City. Yesterday he scored two new goals in the Champions League.
If the information received by the Daily Mail is correct, and all purported bonuses in Haaland’s contract have been activated, Jærbow earns more than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar, according to square mile.
The only person who appears to be earning more from playing football is Kylian Mbappe, who will earn an annual salary of just over 600 million NOK.
Winter is interested in other things than Haaland’s salary now.
My only concern with Haaland is the length of time he is in England. It is very amazing to watch.
In the press conference after the 5-0 win over FC Copenhagen, City coach Pep Guardiola denied that Haaland had a clause in his contract that would allow him to go to Real Madrid in 2024.
– Why would he go to Real Madrid? Winter asks.
Spanish football has its challenges. Yes, it’s Real Madrid, but he just joined Manchester City. It’s a bit like walking out of church after you’ve just married a beautiful woman. Then she starts looking for another woman in the parking lot. This does not happen here. Haaland is fully dedicated to what he is now. The way he and his father organized his career is very clever.
