Manchester United I reached the quarter-finals in it Premier League Cup After goals from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford.

The former completed a stunning goal for the team, while Rashford did everything on his own when he scored after a solo raid from his own half.

This was Manchester United’s first meaningful match after the World Cup in Qatar. The first match was also after Cristiano Ronaldo and the club break up.

Stars such as Bruno Fernandes, Rashford and Casemiro were mentioned as starting the match, while players such as Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez did not appear due to rest after the last World Cup final.

The response to Manchester United’s identity in the quarter-finals follows Thursday’s big showdown between Manchester City and Liverpool.

Great opportunities at United

Alejandro Garnacho had two great chances during the first quarter, but the young Argentine’s handling of the ball wasn’t the best.

First, Fernandez scored a scintillating pass to Garnacho but his poor touch frustrated him as he was about to finish alone with Burnley goalkeeper Billy Peacock-Farrell doing a fine job of disrupting the game.

Soon after, Fernandes and Anthony Martial combined beautifully in the transition before Garnacho sliced the ball towards Burnley’s penalty area, but kept stumbling – resulting in a poor touch. And so it was the ‘keeper’s food’ for the Burnley goalkeeper.

However, there was no food for the goalkeepers in the 27th minute of the match.

Fernandez hit a fine cross towards full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but it looked like it was too long towards the finish line. Wan-Bissaka still solved it very well when he scored with his first touch towards the Burnley penalty area.

There was Christian Eriksen, who could easily put the ball into the goal.

Burnley didn’t create much, but then there was a good assist from United goalkeeper Martin Dbiravka.

The goalkeeper missed a penalty, inattentively causing his teammates to make an unfortunate leap towards the open goal, but Casemiro was cleared with a cry for help.

Not long after that, he almost fouled the goalkeeper again when he tried to stop a pass, but the ball rolled under his feet. However, this was not the most difficult pass, so the goalkeeper managed to parry a clumsy own goal.

It calmed down a bit after the rest, but suddenly there was a bang from Marcus Rashford, who did well for England with three goals in the World Cup.

Rashford intercepted a wrong pass in his own half before turning on the turbo and doing it all on his own.

Against a retracted Burnley defence, he made use of his pace and dribbling skills before slotting the ball into the far corner after a magical performance.

Burnley didn’t give up completely. After 68 minutes, their biggest chance came when Johan Gudmundsson opened the United defense open with a superb pass. Darko Čorlenov’s final touch went wide.

Another big chance for the away team came when Casemiro slotted a dreadful pass into their own defense eight minutes from time, but Burnley striker Ashley Barnes – set up in a fantastic position – volleyed the ball wide.
