Philip Calvin McGraw (73 years old), known as Dr. Phil, returns to the TV screen. This happens barely a year after the show went off the air.
The American TV psychologist completes his “comeback”, this time on his own TV network Merit Street Media.
McGraw and his wife, Robin McGraw, 69, were able to announce on Twitter/X on Monday that they were launching the new media network together:
It’s official. Dr. Phil goes to climax.
New time. New network.
It doesn’t get any bigger than this.

Dr. Phil can please fans by saying that they will still be very involved in the TV show.
– This network will focus on what is important to you (the viewers). What you want to talk about, what you want to do, is what Dr. Phil would do, he says on Twitter/X.
Moreover, he says that he will continue from where he left the screen:
-I promise to continue helping individuals, couples, and families have difficult conversations, face harsh truths, and get real answers for the most positive and effective outcomes.
The return comes despite previous scandals, including allegations of kidnapping, racism, exploitation of the mentally ill and staff complaints.
Many people believe that he exploited people with mental illnesses to make a fortune. Additionally, it has been almost a year since several of his former employees have come forward and spoken out about what they described as a “toxic work environment.”
McGraw previously responded through his lawyer, who said at the time:
– said H. Patrick Morris, McGraw’s attorney: – Dr. McGraw categorically denies racist behavior and CBS does not tolerate racist behavior.
Furthermore, the production managers were said to have worked towards an inclusive, open and safe work environment where everyone should feel welcome.
Despite the previous accusations, the couple say the format of the new show will be the same as it has always been. The premiere is set for February 26, 2024.
The original TV show ran for 21 seasons, first airing in 2002. Dr. Phil first appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show, where he had to prepare the main character himself for trial. And I came out victorious.
This led to the psychiatrist making several appearances, and he ended up getting his own TV show, which is now being relaunched.
