Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Paris Saint-Germain will sign Xavi Simmons in the Harry Kane deal.

Last summer, Dutch club PSV Eindhoven acquired attacking midfielder Xavi Simons for free, but with a reasonable buy-back clause. Since the transfer, Xavi has performed as he should, there have been 19 goals and nine assists in the Eredivisie. Scores goals from central midfield while repeatedly providing near-perfect passes.

Harry Kane has been offered a huge salary to stay at Tottenham, and Manchester United and Real Madrid are still in the running as well as Bayern Munich.

“£100m & very tasty Simmons,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another tweeted: “I speak for all Tottenham fans when I say make it happen.”

A third added: “I’m doing this. It may be a good choice, it may not be, but a decent amount plus Xavi is a hell of a deal.”

Another said: “I’m done, I would have made £60m and Simmons that kid is amazing.”

Kane, who is under contract until the summer of 2024, is currently in Australia with Tottenham on the club’s pre-season tour. New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has spoken to Kane and claims he remains “fully committed to what we’re doing”.

“It wasn’t something earth-shattering that people are looking for. Just a good chat, I introduced myself and we basically talked about the club, where it is and where it thinks it can improve,” he said.

“It’s not one person’s specific vision, it’s about the group and we’re totally on board with that – we want to see a successful team this year.”

The Australian boss added: “He’s here and while he’s here, he’s absolutely committed to what we’re doing and that’s the way I’ve seen things.

“Nobody from Munich has spoken to me. If other clubs want to talk about our contract players, it’s more of a problem for them than for us.

“We have about a month until the season starts, and the transfer window is still open, so we’ll see what happens.”
