The former Princess of Qatar, Casia Gallano, 45, was found dead at her home in Marbella on Sunday, May 29. It’s the Spanish site reports El Mundo.
Although an autopsy is scheduled for this Tuesday, preliminary investigations appear to indicate that the cause of death may have been a drug overdose.
The police are said to have entered Gallano’s home in Marbella after they had not caught her two daughters for several days.
Galeano is an American of Polish descent, and was previously married to Abdulaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani (73), the uncle of the Emir of Qatar.
The former couple have been in a lawsuit for a long time over the right to custody of their three daughters. The legal battle spans more than a decade, when Al Thani is accused of sexually assaulting one of her daughters. She must be between 9 and 15 years old at the time of the accident. The Qatari minister has long denied the allegations.
The two daughters are currently living with their father in Paris.
