Last week, singer and former “American Idol” participant Katharine McPhee, 39, canceled several concerts in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. The singer was originally supposed to perform with her husband, musician David Foster (73).
McPhee explained that it was a tragedy within the family that led to her inability to perform at concerts.
“Dear Jakarta fans, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce that we have two concerts on our Asian tour,” the 39-year-old wrote on Thursday.
“David and I have gone through a terrible tragedy in our family, and at least one of us needs to come home to be with our family.”
Report now TMZ That the horrific incident had to involve the babysitter of his son Rene (2), Yadira Kalito.
According to the information provided by the site, Calito died in a car accident last Wednesday. An 84-year-old woman is said to have stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake and crashed directly into the reception of a Toyota dealership.
Calito is said to have been dragged several meters under the car. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver has not been arrested yet.
McPhee and Foster have not commented in the wake of TMZ’s information.
