But Greenwood was arrested again on Saturday for allegations that he violated bail terms by contacting the alleged victim. He was in detention until Monday’s first court hearing.

Jane Potter of the prosecution confirmed Saturday that Greenwood is charged with three cases against the same woman.

“Attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, assault causing actual physical harm,” Potter said.

The 21-year-old has been suspended from the club but still receives a salary of around NOK 800,000 per week from the big club.

Manchester United received criticism before the start of the season, for including Greenwood in the reserve team.

The club was quick to clarify that the player will automatically become part of the team, as he is still an employee of the club, but is still suspended until the matter is clarified.

Manchester United have registered criminal charges against Mason Greenwood by the Crown Prosecution Service. The club announced that it is still suspended by the club pending the outcome of the legal procedures.

The Manchester United striker, born in Bradford in 2001, signed with the club already when he was six years old. He made his first-team debut when he was 17 years old and scored 35 goals in 129 games.

Nike terminated a sponsorship deal with the promising soccer player in February.
