Mysterious Discovery: - Beams toward Earth

In February, a mysterious light appeared in the night sky. Now astronomers have discovered that the bright light came from a black hole that is beaming directly at Earth.

This is the first time that astronomers have detected a black hole using visible light. This was reported by many international media, incl The Independent.

stronger than ever

A black hole is a region of space in which gravitational forces are so strong that nothing can escape – not even light, according to Large Norwegian Encyclopedia. There are two types of black holes: those that are created when stars collapse and what are referred to as supermassive black holes.

When a star is torn apart by the gravitational force of a black hole, it is called tidal disruption. It’s not an unusual phenomenon, but in February the light was stronger than ever.

The Independent writes that it has given off more than 1,000 trillion suns. The reason is likely because the star was swallowed by a black hole aimed directly at our planet, releasing a massive amount of energy that became visible in the form of light, according to astronomers.

The first picture

A black hole is formed when an object, such as a large star, collapses so that practically all of its mass is condensed into a single point. It probably lies at the center of all galaxies, including the Milky Way, and can be a million to several billion times more massive than the Sun.

In the past, black holes were only illustrated with graphics of what NASA thinks they look like. But in 2019, researchers were able to obtain it The first image of a black holeSpecial thanks to Event Horizon.

– This is the strongest evidence we have for the existence of black holes. Of all the great discoveries, this is just the beginning, said Shepard Doeleman, Event Horizon Telescope director. CNN.

The image provided in 2019 showing the supermassive hole at the center of the galaxy M87 is not an image of the hole itself. What appears is glowing gas around the crater.
