Sand (65) disappeared after a mountain trek on January 13th. Local authorities now confirm that they have found the actor’s remains at Mount Baldy in California.
In the past five months or so, many searches have been made for the actor. The last search took place earlier this month.

Julian Sands has starred in a number of Academy Award nominated films, including A Room with a View from 1985.
He also played in such films as “Warlock”, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, “Arachnophobia” and the horror film “Naked Lunch”.
TV viewers also know him from series like ’24’, ‘Dexter’ and ‘What/If’.
The family is in mourning
Sands is survived by his wife, Yevgenia Sitkovitz, and three grown children. It was his wife who reported him missing after the mountain trek.
One day before the remains were found, the next of kin made their first official post-disappearance statement. They then explain that they still have Julien in their hearts, and thank the search crews for their efforts.
“We have fond memories of Julian as a father, husband, wonderful adventurer — and someone who loved nature and the arts. He was an original and collaborative performance artist,” the statement reads.
