Emergency services responded to a traffic accident east of Tverlandsbrowa shortly after 3.30pm on Friday afternoon.

He died on Sunday afternoon of his injuries. The passenger in the car escaped unharmed from the accident.

Light the candles

Marit Lund Hansen is the leader of Bodø’s crisis team, which takes care of affected families.

To Avisa Nordland, it says that Tverlandet Church will be open from 18.00 to 20.00.

– In connection with the tragic event, we think it is important that those who wish to light the candles have the opportunity to be together in grief. There will be representatives from the crisis team and a priest present for the young people, if anyone needs someone to talk to.

Hansen says the church can be important as a common meeting place in such situations.

– We have experience with that, that the church can be a good and safe place when such tragic incidents happen, you say.

– together

The initiative is in consultation with relatives.

Reverend Egil Arnsby will be present tonight. He says the church will be open to anyone who wants to be with someone who is grieving to give and receive comfort.

The most important thing when such tragic events happen is for us to come together, and to support one another in what is so terrible. For many, the old words, community and lighting candles together can be helpful, he says.
