Three violinists, a pianist and a saxophone player made their way to the final in NRK's ​​major soloists competition entitled “Virtuos”.

The competition is intended for young classical musicians, and the finalists are aged between 19 and 21 years.

The final, in which the participants had the radio orchestra behind them, was broadcast live on NRK1 on Saturday evening, and the winner received the Norwegian Soloist Prize, for a significant sum of NOK 100,000, as well as an international Eurovision ticket. It was voted on by the public and the jury

Among the finalists was Rebecca Nystrød Isaksen (20) from Larvik, but the violinist was eventually forced to see herself defeated by another superstar talent. It was pianist Sebastian Egebaken Svinoy (20) who escaped with victory.

Both the audience watching the television broadcast and the jury wrote that they participated in voting for the winner of this year's “Virtuos” award on Saturday evening. NRC.

The jury consisted of Arild Erikstad (chairman of the jury), Gunilla Sussman (programme director at KORK), Amalie Stalheim (cellist) and Tom Otter Andreasen (flautist at OFO).

Rebecca Nostrud Isaksen hasn't quite reached the top, but the Larvik girl has a lot going for her music career anyway.

The violin talent chose to focus on music, and is currently obtaining a bachelor's degree in classical violin performance from the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH), which is ranked as one of the best Norwegian universities. Top ten art education worldwide.

“I have very good teachers and I enjoy myself,” Rebecca – who works as a freelance violinist, in addition to being a full-time student – said in an interview with Östlands-Posten earlier this year.

Reaching the eye of the needle for Virtuos in a year with a record number of applicants was not something she expected.

-I was completely shocked when they said my name, because I definitely didn't expect to continue. These are top musicians from all over Norway, she told ØP in mid-March.
