There are no advantages to just having a familiar face. Rania Shimon Olsen (48), the host of the Swedish show “Nyhetsmorgon”, was subjected to this after allegedly receiving death threats.
Olson has always been a public figure. Previously working as a news anchor, she currently guides Swedes during the morning hours on ‘News Morning’.
Thus, there are many people who have found out who she is, through thick and thin. Reverse Aftonbladet Could you say she was “stalked”.
– Someone wrote to me in poor English, but it turned out to be a Swedish man in his sixties who lived in a caravan. He targeted people of foreign ancestry, says Olson, who fled Lebanon with his family when he was three.
At first, the man sent her love letters, which she did not answer, she said.
– then he turned around and thought that I should be raped, dismembered and killed. He also wrote that he had placed a bomb under my desk and that he had a remote control, the TV profile says.
The Olsson family received warnings, and the 48-year-old and her husband, Matthias Olsson, had to notify the kindergarten.
Children were not allowed to go out on their own. It was very painful.
Olsson tells Dagbladet that she reported the person.
– I reported him to the police, and he was already convicted later. Unfortunately, he only received fines.
Olsson previously worked as a news anchor for TV4 and ‘Ekonominyheterna’. Last year I got a job at Nyhetsmorgon.
