Over the years, the star has dealt many blows to body positivity, speaking out about the harassment and ugly messages she’s received about her body.
In 2015, for example, the star came out in the media after receiving negative comments for being overweight. At the time it was the shower photos that sparked the storm.

The star has stated on several occasions that she does not allow herself to be affected by the negative comments she has received, but now she admits that the harassment affected her more than she was honest about.

At the same time she came out against internet trolls, she could sit in her room and “cry herself to death,” as she puts it.
She says the harassment began after she was diagnosed with lupus in 2014, a chronic autoimmune disease according to the NHI, which means the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy body cells and tissues.
– My weight was constantly fluctuating because I was on some medication. Obviously, people manipulated it. It was like they couldn’t wait to find something to crush me. I was bullied because I gained weight as a result of having lupus.
In 2015, Gomez spoke for the first time about her diagnosis of the disease.
She previously received chemotherapy for the disease, and in 2017 underwent a kidney transplant to survive the disease.
