Just over 16km from the finish line, Søren Wærenskjold may have disappeared from the race for overall victory at the Tour of Denmark.

Turns out the air was gone from the rear wheel, and it took time for the Uno-X team to come to the rescue with a new bike. After being the strongest for two days, a puncture would stop Wærenskjold.

The Norwegian finally finished well behind LiddellTrek’s Danish riders Matthias Skellmos and Mads Pedersen who finished first and second thus gaining a good foundation for the overall win.

Mads deserved to win. I tried to convince him we could drive together across the finish line, but he decided I’d win, says Skjelmose according to fellett.dk.

On Wednesday, Weigl’s “King Stage” in Denmark was waiting.

– Heavy boy Mads Pedersen said about Wærenskjold before the stage, according to Danish TV 2.

The mandal vase is 195 cm high and weighs 92 kg.

Wærenskjold won the opening stage on Tuesday and followed it up with a second-place finish on Wednesday.
