Sports, SK Fire | TV 2: Bidding on the fire captain

The Swedish club Elfsborg made a bid for Sivert Heltne Nilsen, TV writes 2. Going into the Allsvenskan gold medal game, the Swedish club is two points behind league leaders Malmø.

Heltne Nilsen played for the Swedish club from August 2019 to January 2021. His contract with Brann expires in June 2025.

As the BA learned, Elfsborg was warned of a long and lucrative contract for the captain. But Brann is no closer to accepting the offer from the Swedish club.

– Obviously, this relates to Seifert’s desire for a new contract. He fell for the ex in completely different circumstances. Now there are also more people around him who are signing new contracts. He simply wants to improve his position, says BA fire expert Jonas Groner.

It is not believed that Heltne Nielsen wants to move to the Swedish club.

– Then I’ll be surprised. But I really think that’s a factor in Sivert wanting Brann to go ‘all-in’ this summer and show some strength in the transfer market. They’ve sold too many now, and I think he wants the club to bring some quality in before they go to Europe and fight for new trophies,” Groner says.
