The cleaning plant in Trondheim burned to the ground

The fire was reported to police at 2.17pm on Thursday night.

When the fire was in the worst condition, there were large flames and black smoke on the site. There is a large industrial waste disposal facility at Hexstodmion in Heimdale in Trondheim.

Two hours after the fire was reported, police said the smoke had dropped significantly. Firefighters carry out controlled combustion.

– The fire service carries out the controlled burning of the building. Looks like it’s getting closer. Håvard Høyem, operations manager at the Trondhelac police district, told TV 2 at 4.40pm that there was no risk of spreading.

In connection with the fire, the police, in collaboration with Retura, which operates the facility, were engaged in the task of removing the equipment.

– Many staff were on site quickly. Move the machines and open the doors. Trindelock, Arnt-Harold, Operations Police Manager in Arland, told TV2 that there is now close cooperation between the fire service and staff.
