Therese Gohauge, Ebba Andersson | He replies to Johog: Why does she have to do that?

Swedish skating star Ebba Andersson (26) joins the ranks of people who have admired Therese Johaug. It happens after the Norwegian Ski Phantom's feat in the NM three-mile combo race this weekend.

-You can't help but be impressed. I actually saw the start of her race,” Anderson says Express.

Like many Norwegian experts, Andersson also noted that Johaug struggled a little with the technique at first, but the mother of young children from Dalsbygda gradually began to gain more strength in earnest.

Before a third of the 30-kilometre distance had been covered, Yohog looked more and more like his old self on the New Mexico trails.

I think she will struggle

Ebba Anderson confirms that she thinks it's fun to see Therese Gohugh back in action.

-I would definitely welcome her back. If it is like this, why do you sit on the sidelines and follow the competitions as an expert? asks the 26-year-old.

The Swede also admits that she may have problems quickly conquering the northeastern mountain, especially given the form she has shown even on cross-country tracks this season.

In the World Cup, a 10th-place finish has only been disappointing for Anderson this winter. Four other riders from Sweden were stronger.

Dump your favorite character into the toilet

Anderson is the world champion in the three-mile race, a distance in which Gohaug crushed all of NM's competitors on Saturday. Next year, there will be a women's five-mile race too, when the World Ski Championships are held in Trondheim.

“I think Thérèse probably deserves a favourite, even though she has been away from home for a season,” says the 2023 Planica Double Toilet Cup winner to Expressen.

Granted, Johaug has been away from competing with the world elite for two years, but she is open to participating in Trondheim next winter, if she feels a real effort can be made towards the championship.

-It's a bit about the overall burden of the family situation and the training, and I have to feel 120 percent right before I say yes to this. The 35-year-old told Netavisen on Saturday that guilt can creep in a little.

– It's a lot of fun on those days here, when things are going well, but you have to go out and practice in the pouring rain or the cats blowing and you know the job has to be done. Maybe you have a screaming toddler inside, who just wants to be with mommy. You have to be completely committed to this for it to be good,” Gohough noted.
