By comparison, a barrel of North Sea oil was trading at $114.47 a barrel at the close of trading in Oslo on Monday.

Wall Street

Indexes on Wall Street saw a choppy path on Monday and reached their lowest level today after Central Bank Governor Jerome Powell sounded the alarm about rising inflation and promised tough action.

And the Dow Jones index fell 0.58 percent to 34553, while the Nasdaq index closed down 0.51 percent to 13824. Meta Netflix decreased by 2.31 and 1.58 percent, respectively.

The S&P 500 fell 0.04 percent to 4,461. On the upside, energy stocks rose on Monday with higher oil prices, and Occidental Petroleum and Marathon Oil were among the top gainers in the S&P 500, each up about 8 percent. .

Oslo Stock Exchange

The Oslo Stock Exchange rose strongly on Monday, and is in the green for the fourth consecutive day. The main index closed at 1258.60 points, up 2.45 percent. It’s an all-new high.
