Threatening the referee after a huge mistake in the Dortmund match – he gets protection

Football referee Sascha Stegmann and his family received threats after he did not award a penalty kick to Borussia Dortmund in a 1-1 match against Bochum.

There was a case in which Bochum’s Danilo Soares was fouled by Karim Adeyemi in the penalty area in a Bundesliga match on Friday. However, referee Steigmann did not agree with the Dortmund camp that it was a penalty kick, and the VAR did not intervene either.

Bayern moved one point past Dortmund at the top of the table after the team beat Hertha Berlin on Sunday. Four rounds remaining.

After that, the penalty episode became a major topic of discussion, and on Saturday Stegmann and the German Football Association (DFB) conceded that Dortmund should have been awarded a penalty.

Statement: Dortmund coach Edin Terzic (left) was very unhappy with referee Sascha Stegmann. Here he is rewarded with a yellow card.

to Sports 1 Stegemann says he received threats against himself and his family after the match.

– I understand the feelings that came out on Friday night, that they felt unfairly treated. On Saturday, unpleasant things happened, like me and my family were threatened, says the judge.

He has taken the case to the police and now has preventative measures in place.

Dortmund manager Hans-Joachim Watzke said on Sunday that the club had put Friday’s penalty behind her.

– We accept it, and this is the end of the discussion for us, Watzke told the German news agency DPA.
