Ukraine, Kharkiv | The danger alert was raised after the air strike on the city of Kharkiv

The air strike warning was issued on Thursday and applied to most parts of the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine. Early Friday night, the warning was lifted.

This happened shortly after Kharkiv, the country's second-largest city, was attacked by at least five drones, according to the governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Senjihubov. According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terehov, the city was also subjected to a Russian missile attack.

When the warning was lifted early Friday night, there was no information yet on whether anyone had been killed or injured. According to Sinjehopov, it was the Osnovyansky district in the city of Kharkiv that was attacked. The attack led to a fire, according to the mayor.

Broadcasting Corporation Sospilen reported that the weather warning lasted for more than 16 hours in the city of Kharkiv, the longest continuous period since Russia launched the war of aggression in February 2022.

Russian forces launched a surprise attack on the northern part of the Kharkiv region on Friday last week. Ukrainian and Russian soldiers are fighting each other in a number of villages near the border with Russia. In this part of the Kharkiv region, the warning about the danger of air strikes is still in place, according to Sospilin.
