Earlier we shared some images of Yezz‘s Project Ara modules. Eventually, we made it to Yezz’s stand ourselves at Mobile World Congress and had a first-hand look at showcased pieces.
In January 2015 Google made a splash at Developers Conference in Singapore where it revealed the Spiral 2 version of its modular phone.
Yezz is a relatively unknown company in the world of smartphones that steadily makes its way into the markets of Latin America, US and Europe. It strikes the cord with an average consumer by offering the right mix of technology, design and price. Google’s strategy runs along the same lines and tries to reach to broader masses while offering quality devices at affordable price.
No surprise that Yezz was approached by Google and offered collaboration on the modular technology of Google’s ATAP (Advanced Technology and Projects) Project Ara initiative. We’ve heard a lot about the concept but this is the first mockup modules were spotted in the wild.
