24 years after its release, Age of Empires II is even more content

(PressFire.no): Microsoft and developer Forgotten Empires have lifted the veil a bit on their upcoming add-on pack, “The Return of Rome,” which comes in “Age of Empires II – Definitive Edition.”

This expansion pack will add a lot of content found in the first Age of Empires game.

Three new campaigns have been added, Sargon of Akkad, Pyrrhus of Epirus and Trajan, which deal with stories set in the Sumerian, Macedonian and Roman civilizations respectively – all with new voice acting.

However, it is not known whether or not the entire story portion of the original game was included – however, it is hinted at in a number of achievements that were also added to the game (one of which is called “Complete the game with…”).

All 16 selectable factions were included in the original game: Assyrians, Babylonians, Carthaginians, Chosun, Egyptians, Greeks, Hittites, Macedonians, Minoans, Persians, Phoenicians, Romans, Shang, Sumerians and Yamato.

In addition, a completely new one has been added. Luck wit It is a Vietnamese faction.

These can only be used in the story portion of “Rome Returns”, with one exception: Romans can also be used in the “Age of Empires II” portion of the game – including online.

The add-on will launch on May 16th.
