A series of tunnels, secret rooms and a safe were found under the house

It sounds like a Poitou story, but it happened at Freddy’s house in Sussex.

Freddy Goodall, 23, looked at old photos of the home that had been in the family’s possession for 500 years. In one of the photos, Freddy, a real estate developer himself, found an entrance in the library, added in the 19th century.

However, Freddy was unable to find the same entrance when he went to study the room.

– I looked for him, but it was not possible to see him. Then it occurred to me that it was hidden behind a bookcase. I finally found a hole and an entrance to a secret room behind a book, say to the metro

It is believed that the tunnels were secret passages used by servants in the 19th century.

Freddy Goodall has shared several videos on TikTok, where viewers can join on a journey of discovery at home.

In one clip, viewed more than 4.5 million times, he lifts the board away and discovers an empty darkroom.

He noticed another board on the floor, then removed it and found a secret passage that led to underground rooms.

Meanwhile, Freddy also finds a ladder that leads to another room above, and when he climbs up, he finds a larger room filled with cobwebs, dust, and a huge wasp’s nest.

In a supplemental video, we see Freddy find a hidden safe that has been untouched and forgotten for many years. After repeated attempts to open the safe that only lead to broken tools, Freddy gets help to move the bullet-heavy safe out of the house.

Using a cutting torch, they were able to destroy the hinges, so they could open the safe:

Here he finds books from 1848 containing information about the house as well as some letters.

Among the other hidden treasures Freddy found in the secret hallways of the house were old textbooks and desks that were used in the 20th century when the property was an educational institution.

– She left the rooms as they were. I like the idea that they are the same for hundreds of years, there is a lot of history to be found in every room, he says.
