Actor Alan Arkin has passed away at the age of 89. The death was confirmed by the family itself the people.
Our father was a uniquely gifted force of nature, both as an artist and as a man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and grandfather who was loved and will be sorely missed, the statement said.
Arkin is survived by his wife, Susan Newlander, whom he married in 1996, and his three sons, Adam, Matthew, and Anthony.
During his career, the actor appeared in more than 100 films, and in 1967 he received his first of four Academy Award nominations for his role in the comedy The Russians Are Coming.
In addition, he also played in “Little Miss Sunshine” from 2006. Here he played the role of Edwin Hoover, a role for which he later won an Academy Award in the “Best Supporting Actor” category.
