Solbakken met the press at Ullevaal Stadium on Monday this week. The reason is that he extended his contract as manager of the national team until qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
At the press conference, the Swedish Football Association (NFF) General Secretary, Karl Peter Löken, revealed that the national football association had consulted with Haaland and Martin Odegaard before making the decision.
