On Friday, K Westengen will hit the ski slopes in Nordkissa, as he has done for years. It’s peak season for backcountry skiers, and everything needs to be in order for a weekend getaway.
A short distance down the track with the machine, he notices that something is not quite right.
– I see car tracks inside the ski track, Westengen tells Talkbladet.
A short time later, the trail runner found the culprit. A car is stuck in the middle of the tracks and the driver is missing.

Been there before – in the summer
Arriving at Kopperudtårnet, a common hiking spot in Vestengen Ullensaker, he meets three people and two dogs.
It turns out they have an abandoned car.
– I asked them if they saw the existence of ski tracks. The cross-country skier says they don’t see it, and continues:
– They told me they were there before, but there were no ski tracks then. It turned out to be in the summer.
Then there is an old forest path at the same place.

Westengen steps in and helps remove the car from the track.
– Everyone was happy in the end, and he says the hapless expedition group was grateful for the help.
He didn’t think they would do the same thing again.
Westengen also turned out to be a rich experience.
– It never happened to me before, but people driving on ski slopes is now a regular occurrence in winter, he says.
