Several people, including children, were killed in Russian air strikes on the city of Sumy, east of the capital, Kyiv, according to a Ukrainian official.

At least nine people were killed in bombings in Sumy last night, AFP reported.

– I’m not hiding

A video clip of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday evening shows the head of state saying that the evacuation routes were mined. He believes that the roads are pure propaganda for the Russian apparatus to say that they are helping the population.

The International Committee of the Red Cross has confirmed that a road outside the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol has been mined.

Monday is a tough day. We have a war in the country, so every day is Monday, says the president.

Zelensky promises not to hide, but is in the capital to fight.

Strong weapons

In Sumy and Okhterka, located in the east of the country near the Russian border, bombs fell in residential areas, according to regional leader Dmytro Zhivitsky, who writes about this in Facebook.

The bombs also hit oil depots in Zhytomyr and the neighboring city of Chernyakiv, west of Kyiv, according to the AP news agency, while Mayor Anatole Fedoruk in the Kiev suburb of Bucha reported artillery fire, according to NTB.

– We can’t even collect the corpses because the bombardment by heavy weapons does not stop, neither day nor night, he said.

To stop Russian forces, Ukraine also needs an air force.

Poland will support the delivery of combat aircraft

On a runway near the Ukrainian border, a double-digit plane arrived every day delivering tons of Western military aid to the invaded country. Norway has delivered 2,000 M72 anti-tank missiles.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Britain would support Poland if it handed over fighter jets to Ukraine.

At the same time, he warned that this could put Poland “in the line of fire” for Russia.

Poland currently has 27 Russian-made MIG-29 fighter jets, according to military magazine Jane’s.

These aircraft can be quickly used by Ukrainian pilots because they are trained to fly them.
