Nicklas Bendtner, Football | Nicklas Bendtner’s luxury car remained hidden for several years, and now it has been sold for millions of dollars

Dane Nicklas Bendtner is retiring in 2021. During his time as an active player, the former Rosenborg man was known for making more headlines off the pitch than on it. There have been several unsportsmanlike incidents linked to the 35-year-old.

The striker played for clubs such as Arsenal, Juventus, Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest and Rosenborg during a long career. For the Danish national team, he also played 81 matches, scoring 30 goals with the flag on his chest.

A combination of flexible statements, an extravagant lifestyle, romances with several prominent women, including Danish Baroness Caroline Fleming, and the ability to rarely say no to a good party, made Bendtner a regular in the “celebrity columns.”

Bendtner’s car was seized

In 2021, he came into the spotlight, among other things, after the Danish authorities confiscated one of his luxury cars.

It was a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which at the time cost nearly four million Norwegian kroner new.

In 2021, Bendtner was tried in a total of seven cases, all of which involved violations of the traffic law, among other things, he was driving without a driving licence, as a result of which he lost the car and the driving license and had to pay a fine of about 40 thousand Danish kroner.

The Dane chose to appeal the ruling, but in May 2023 it was finally decided that he would not get the luxury car back.

Since then, the car has been kept hidden by authorities, but it recently resurfaced – at an auction.

Several hundred are said to have attended and auctioneer Kim Davidsen says he has never been involved in anything like this.

“My phone probably rang 300 times,” he told the Danish newspaper.

The starting price of the car was 900,000 DKK, but the price quickly rose and finally ended at 1,350,000 DKK. This corresponds to approximately two million Norwegian kroner at today’s exchange rate. However, the buyer of the Porsche wished to remain anonymous.

“There were a huge number of people here, and it is a great honor to be allowed to sell such an expensive car,” Davidsen says of the sale.
