Houston (VG) Oscar Pope (19 years old) Previously lived alone at Manchester City Boarding School in England. Now the Oslo man shines with the rest of the big club’s stars during the hot training camp in the United States.

– I think he does it brilliantly. I have known Oscar for several years. I love him as a player. He’s very smart, strong and can play on top or on the edges, Manchester City’s Rodrygo (26) told VG here in Houston.

Mom Turid Gunnes is proud that her son has been chosen by successful coach Pep Guardiola to be among the 26 players with the United States. In the team there is Oscar Pope with stars such as Erling Braut Haaland (21) and Kevin De Bruyne (31).

The 19-year-old is also fit to make his debut in VGTV’s broadcast matches against Club América Thursday night at 03.10 NST and Bayern Munich through Sunday at 01.00. The mother says that the long-awaited recovery comes after several years of dedication.

It’s not certain that he will be allowed to play matches in the States, but just for him to train with that gang there, meet Erling Braut Haaland and train under Pep Guardiola, it “boosts” his self-confidence, motivation and everything. I think it’s very exciting. And mum Tauride Jones told VG he’s of course very happy too.
