It’s not the one we thought it would arrive, i.e. 23H2, and it may not arrive until October.
This is included
Instead, the “Moment 4” update brings the following 22H2 Which is the latest stable version of Windows 11:
- Windows Copilot
- Update file explorer
- Updates to Windows Firewall, including targeting firewall rules for specific applications, updates to firewall mode, and more detailed firewall logging.
- Voice access improvements, making voice navigation of your PC a breeze.
- Narrator – Natural voices have a more natural language for a more immersive user experience.
- Manage mobile apps for Microsoft Edge on all versions with Microsoft Intune.
There’s been some confusion around the launch, but it’s confirmed that CoPilot was launched in this update, but companies won’t get it until November in the form of “Microsoft 365 Copilot.” CoPilot is Microsoft’s AI built into Edge, among other things, for comparison shopping. Note that this is a beta version of the AI built into the operating system.
You have to request a download, while it will be released to everyone on October 10.
This October 23H2 update introduces:
- RGB color control
- Paint using image layer control (“Layers”)
- Upgrade file explorer
- Taskbar grouping
- New and improved Windows Spotlight
- Built-in support for .rar etc.
- Development Engine and Windows Dev Home
