He will test his strength against Claybo and other national team players.
Peter Northug (38) and his little brother Evin (28) were recorded in the team sprint on Thursday in classic style during the second part of the NM in Lillehammer.
There, the Northug brothers will represent the first team for Strindheim IL and measure their strength with a number of national team runners who are finishing the season in the former Olympic city.
Among others, Dedryk Tonseth and Johannes Hosflot Klaebo, who will be selected for the Bjusen Il team.
– It can be brutal, Diederik Tonseth tells VG about the Northog meeting in the first stage.
– Especially with the form this year was in. Maybe it's about getting as many seconds as possible so that Even can get the better of Johannes. But if the two went out together, Johannes would probably take it.
Tonseth believes that Strindheim IL, on paper, is a very good team.
-He even showed great form in the latter part of the season. It's been a long time since Peter has gone as well as he did during the Norwegian Cup in Nice, but it will be a strong team. But I would say that any team that has Claybaugh on the team should be considered the favorite.
The Lillehammer Ski Club with national team skiers Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget and Håvard Solås Taugbøl will also be one of the teams that could stand in the way of a Northug medal.
For Meråker's Varden IL, Norwegian-Irish World Cup runner Thomas Maloney Westgård will team up with Emil Iversen, while Erik Valnes will be joined by Maximilian von Selchow B. The latter two represent the city of Bardufoss and the surrounding sports federation.
Note: The team race begins with qualifying at 15:00 on Thursday. The women's and men's finals begin at 6:00 p.m. Everything is broadcast on NRK1.
