Cuts permanent employees

According to a press release sent out on Tuesday, Telenor will undergo a staff reduction as about 200 full-time employees will be cut.

– Telenor’s success is a consequence of the fact that the company has always been ready for change and has been at the forefront of technological development. Our industry is in constant change with rapid digitization, and this means that we must also adapt to both developments in customer needs and technology, Managing Director Birgit Ingebritsen says in a press release.

The staff must also have been informed of a significant reduction in the consultants hired. In addition to staff reductions, companies expect a natural departure among employees. Telenor’s management expects this to be, in aggregate, about the same amount as the reduction in permanent staff.

Telenor states that laid-off employees will be offered a final agreement with adjustment assistance.

Flat structure

In addition, VG understands that a significant reduction in the number of consultants hired has been announced.

– The changes we are implementing now mean that we will have fewer managers and a flatter structure, in addition to that roles and working methods will be changed so that we can achieve the goals we set for ourselves, says Managing Director Birgit Ingebritsen, according to a press release.
