For most people, words like “model,” “playboy,” and “scandal” come to mind when thinking of Swedish Victoria Sylvested (47). However, now it has gone in a completely different direction, and perhaps few people know that Silvstedt makes a living by being a stockbroker.
But over the years the 47-year-old has earned far more nicknames than the glamor model and stockbroker. So, Se og Hør took a deep dive to find out more about this beautiful Swede.
Silvstedt grew up in a small village in northern Sweden and has been active in alpine skiing since the age of five. When she was 16, she injured her shoulder in a serious accident during a competition, ending her athletic career. She said this in a great interview with Monaco Live.
The father, who had hoped she would make it to the Olympics, was disappointed, while the mother took the opportunity to send her daughter’s photo to a beauty contest called the Miss Hawaiian Tropic.
Silvstedt ended up in second place, but in her portfolio she also got a contract with the largest modeling agency in Stockholm, after she was discovered by a scout who was present.
After participating in both Miss Sweden and Miss World, she left her homeland in favor of France and Paris.
– I told my mother that I would be back after the summer. I never came back, she told Monaco Live.
Stayed with Melania
However, my time in Paris was not what I had imagined.
Silvestedt recalled that she struggled to get a job as a model in Fashion City. It was the tall, blonde, muscular woman that wasn’t really what Parisian fashion houses wanted at all. They asked her to cut her hair and simply lose weight.
– I was in shock. I thought modeling would be easy for me, but Paris was a cold shower. She said in the interview that I do about a dozen castings a day, and I wasn’t a good fit anywhere.
Eventually I got some jobs and changed agencies and She moved in with her friend Melania Knaus – now Melania Trump (52).
Melania Trump and I were very close. We had the same goals, we were both away from our families and we really had no other friends. She was beautiful – very driven, stubborn and serious. Since we’re different types and worked with different agencies, we didn’t compete for the same jobs. At night, after running all day, we went out and bought tuna, corn, lettuce, and tomatoes – and that was dinner. Then Melania, who was very skinny, said, “Oh no, we ate too much. We have to run up and down the stairs 15 times!” Forbes.
The duo lived together for a year.
One of the things that Silvstedt became famous for was the time she was in Playboy.
It all started when another Playboy model discovered her when she was in Palm Springs. The model, whose name is Jennifer Driver, spoke with Playboy president Hugh Hefner and sold her as the “new Anna Nicole Smith.”
Hefner moved her to Los Angeles, and so Paris was a chapter in the past.
– At first it was a big scandal. It was in all the news that I was the first Swedish Playboy Model of the Year. I remember my mom asking me why I’ve been in L.A. for so long, and I just said I did the shoot. Finally, I asked for a phone number to contact me, and when I called and heard “Playboy Palace” I was puzzled and the line was hung, she told Monaco Live.
After staying in the US for a few years, the trip returned to Europe, specifically Italy. She was due to take part in a TV show, and therefore she had to learn the language at record speed.
Several film roles later, she was offered a role in the French version of “Fortune Wheel”. The show was a huge hit with seven million viewers each night, and was the highest-grossing game show in France, according to the 47-year-old.
She also got her own reality series “Victoria Silvstedt: My Perfect Life”. It was only one season when Silvstedt cameras and chase dramas exhausted production. Later, she stated that she would never do such a thing again.
He lost half the money
Silvstedt was only 21 when she became Playmate of the Year, and she’s starting to get several big deals. In the end, the money started pouring in.
– I’ve been working all the time, putting money into an interest-free account, and I’ve been scammed many times by investors. I was on my own away from my family, lived in Los Angeles and later in Paris. At first, you used all the money you earned – because you live in the present moment and you’re young, Silvstedt admitted to Forbes.
— but then I got a big wake-up call after the 2008 financial crash, and I lost half of my money. I was in shock. Now I control the stocks and bonds that I buy. It became a lot easier when I settled in Monaco ten years ago because when you shop here you don’t have to report the gains, so I can make a big portfolio with the banks. She explained that trading is more exciting than modeling, while at the same time emphasizing that it is definitely a world of men.
In addition to the house she lives in on the French Riviera, she also has apartments in both Miami and New York. The 47-year-old has put his days as a playboy model behind him and is now focusing on being a stockbroker, as well as lecturing on the stock market and investments.
As of 2022, Silvstedt owns, according to celebrity net worthwith a net worth of $15 million, which is equivalent to approximately NOK 150 million.
