– It will be a wet weekend in western Norway, so we have sent out a yellow warning for heavy rain at X, writes the Meteorological Agency.

Weather forecasters have issued a snow warning as the cold ground freezes when it rains.

– Due to the transition to colder ground and rain, another message says we have sent a yellow snow warning for southern Norway, western Norway, Trøndelag Nordland and Drams today.

The warning will be in effect tonight in the south or overnight into Saturday in the north.

– Drive according to the conditions, stress the meteorologists.

The coldest in Europe

In Innlandet and Troms and Finnmark last night the temperature dropped below -30 degrees.

This makes Norway the coldest country in Europe.

– In the next few days, a warm westerly air (known as Kagelinna) will spread across the country and cause a strong temperature rise, writes the Met Office.
