TAG Heuer, Swiss watch manufacturer, has recently presented the next generation of TAG Heuer Connected watches. Connected Modular 45 smartwatch design allows customers to pick parts and customise the watch before buying it. The lugs, strap, buckle, digital face and physical module can all be swapped. There are up to 4,000 different watch variations, says the company.

The electronic case, protected by 2.5 mm scratch-resistant sapphire glass, is 45 mm in diameter, 13.75 mm thick and weighs 62 grams. It is powered by the Intel Atom processor Z34XX, 512 MB main memory, 4 GB storage and operates on the Android Wear 2.0 platform. 1.39-inch AMOLED display supports a multiple finger recognition.
TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 provides Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, and is equipped with accelerometer, gyroscope, tilt detection sensor, microphone, vibrations/haptics engine, ambient light sensor, GPS, NFC. It is also water-resistant to 50 meters. 410mAh battery is enuogh for up to 25 hours of normal usage.

What we know is that the starting price of the timepiece is $1,650. 11 standard models will be available at launch, and 45 versions could be placed on order, including titanium, ceramic, and gold-plated components. The smartwatch module can be changed for the prestigious Heuer 02T Tourbillon Chronograph and is offered in a deluxe box set that includes a connected module and additional black rubber strap. This top configuration costs a hefty $17,000.
