The three Chinese astronauts, Jing Haiping, Zhou Yangzhuo, and Gai Haichao, are now in space. After launching from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome, it took a few hours to reach the Tiangong Space Station. There they met three other Chinese.

In the room on Tuesday: the three Chinese Gui Haichao, Jing Haipeng, and Zhu Yangzhu are now in the room.

Aboard Tiangong Station, the old crew was waiting for the new crew. The three in the old cast are Fei Junlong, Deng Qingming, and Zhang Lu.

Chinese astronauts are called astronauts. There are now six of them in the room. That is, until Saturday. Then the old crew goes home.

There are also astronauts in space. And this is the Russian cosmonauts. They are part of the current crew of the International Space Station. The three are Dmitry Petlin, Sergey Prokopyev, and Anna Kikina.

There is only one Japanese in the room. Koichi Wakata from JAXA. He’s on the International Space Station as part of the current crew. There are also three Americans on the International Space Station as part of the crew. They are Frank Rubio, Josh Casada, and Nicole Mann.

Also in the room were three paying passengers and their pilot. It was launched by SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. The pilot is very experienced former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson. She now works for Axiom Space.

On May 21, Whitson and her three passengers climbed into the room. Tuesday morning, all four were on the International Space Station. This means that it was very tight in there.

And the four aboard their spacecraft again at 3pm Norwegian time on Tuesday. They were supposed to land on Earth.

Two of the passengers on the cruise did not use their own money. Published by the Saudi Arabian Space Authority. It’s a lot of money. The exact amount is confidential, but during the last flight each seat would have cost more than half a billion crowns.

The two from Saudi Arabia are Rayana Barnawi and Ali Al-Qarni. Who pays for everything himself is the American John Shoffner.

Barnawi became the first Saudi woman in space.

The old record was set on March 14, 1995. Then there were thirteen people in the room at the same time. Seven of them were on the US space shuttle Endeavor. Three Russians remain on the Mir space station.

Or maybe not

Perhaps the US authorities believe that the new record was set on May 25th. It depends on where the space starts. The Americans set the limit at 80 kilometers. Most of the rest of the world thinks 100km is the way to go.

If the Americans are right, for a short time on May 25 there were as many as 20 people in the room.

Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity was carrying six people when it was in “American space” for a few seconds. The unit was at an altitude of 87 kilometers above the Earth’s surface.

The new record is unlikely to last long. There is a lot of activity in space travel at the moment.

India is a new country that is about to send its country into space. Then we’ll get Indian astronauts, the Jagannauts.

The Chinese have big plans. It is possible that the Chinese space station will be expanded. China is also heading to the moon by the end of this decade.

SpaceX has ambitions to send multiple people into space at the same time. The company will use the new Starship spacecraft for this. The ship is not yet operational. When the Starship is ready to go, one of the first flights will be one A trip around the moon with ten people.
