GD got a tip in the evening that 5-6 police cars and what looked like crime technicians in white coats rushed to the spot.
– I can confirm that we are on the scene, but can't say more right now. A message will come soon, the police informed GD in the evening.
They later said the situation was under control.
At 23.48 the police report that a woman has been confirmed dead and that a man has been arrested and they are sending it to Fefor Høifjellshotell.
Police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
– This incident came to our notice on 21.29. For investigative reasons, we don't want to say anything about who made the report. We now have several sections and have asked Kripos for help. I am not sure if they will come tonight or tomorrow morning, operations manager Atle B. von Obstfelder tells GD at midnight.
He says police are currently investigating and trying to get an overview of the situation. Obstfelder was unaware of the helicopter's presence at the location as GD received the information later in the evening.
– We are investigating the hotel and the people in the area. We are also working to contact witnesses who can help us gain an overview. He says the hotel was closed as a result of the investigation.
Police could not say whether there were many people at the hotel this weekend. They could not release the age or any other information about the woman and the arrested man. NTB writes that the man was arrested at the hotel without drama.
– Neither of us are the same age. We have no secure ID and relatives are not notified. Obstfelder says it's still in preliminary investigation.
