Ole Klimtsen: – I can take a little bit of heat

– It’s rather “hot” here. Former professional boxer Ole “Lukkøye” Klemetsen says on the phone from Torrevieja that when it gets to 35 degrees, he bites here and there.

– Your apartment in Torrevieja is not in the worst parts of southern Spain, but is it hot where you are too?

– My mom loves to go to Spain, but now she says it’s too hot. But she turns 80 at Christmas, and then she’ll join. Maybe I can take some heat. I’ve sat in the sauna quite a bit in my career. When I was a boxer, I spent hours in the sauna to lose weight.

Don’t be afraid of the heat

– What do you wear in the heat?

I do jogging every day. I go out and run 11-12 o’clock When it’s at its hottest and I think it’s painful and good. It depends on the sport. My father said, the worse the pain, the better (Boxer John “Big John” Klemetsen, who was Lukkøy’s manager, magazines.).

– Did you take this motto in raising your children?

– My daughter is here now, and she’s a tough guy. my son too. It is a tradition in the family that we must be strict with.

Would it affect your training routine if it got warmer now?

– I’m a little afraid he’ll bite more here and there if he gets warmer. But the worse, the better. We must lubricate ourselves well, not with patience, but with sunscreen. We play paddle tennis here, and it’s great to jump in the sea. I tell those around me that nobody can complain about anything here. It’s just boom.

more severe weather

– Meteorologists warn that heat waves in Spain will become more and more intense. Are you worried about the future in Spain?

– If the wise gentlemen were worried, I would not be wiser than them and take them lightly. We must listen to the scholars. Whenever he writes in the papers about flashing warning lights, I have to admit it’s not very pleasant to hear. But a lot of different things have been said about thissays Klemetsen.

– Do you know who lives near the south coast and suffers more from the heat?

– I know a lot of people who don’t have air conditioners. It’s murder. I live by the sea, and now we have the doors open and we’re getting a nice project. I brought three small Stavanger air conditioning units with me, in case the AC broke. You pour water on it and you get a cool evening air. If the air conditioning breaks down, it hurts, especially at night.

Afraid of mosquitoes

– But are you having fun now?

– We are very happy with the space we have here. We are having a great and absolutely wonderful time. To be a little harsh on the face: welcome the heat and take the rest a little later. But I can tell you, without saying who and where, that I know several people who live in the dump, in the midst of fate. It’s hot in there, really deadly when you don’t get a breeze and mosquitos come. Then the holiday begins to fade. You can avoid that here on the coast. We’re in luck, says Klemetsen.

– Do you send greetings from the south to those who suffer from the heat?

– Yes, I feel them. Go out to the pool or the sea. It is recommended. It feels positive to get warm anyway, but it can kill you quickly.
