– This is the worst match I have seen under Jurgen Klopp's leadership at Liverpool. That's how bad things are, former Liverpool full-back Stephen Warnock commented on the BBC during the second half.

The Liverpool coach himself is clear:

Unfortunately, there is nothing positive to say about the match, says Klopp in an interview shown on Viaplay.

– A real high probability guy. Atalanta have a foot and a half in the semi-finals, sums up Viaplay expert PAL Andre Helland.

Gianluca Scamaca, who was responsible for the Italians' first two goals, was lifted into the air by his teammates after the match.

– A wonderful evening for us and our supporters, says the two-goal hero to Viableli.

Experts praised Atalanta's away match.

– I'm a big fan of Atalanta, says former Molde and Strømsgodset coach Tor Uli Skelrud in the Viaplay studio.

– They dominated Liverpool and created a lot of chances, says Warnock on the BBC.

Mario Pasalic completed the humiliation and scored 3-0 seven minutes before the end of normal time:

At the end of the first half, the visiting team attacked from the right side. Davide Zappacosta's low cross found Gianluca Scamaca inside the box, who slotted the first goal of the game through the gloves of Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

– It is the end that Kelleher will take, of course, commented Viaplay expert Lars Tjærnås.

But Liverpool could easily have been the first team to take the lead. The home team's Harvey Elliott hit the crossbar and the post with the same shot just ten minutes before Atalanta took the lead before half-time:

Manager Jurgen Klopp really got going in the first half and made three substitutions. Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai all came on in the second half.

However, the changes did not lead to any immediate effect, although Salah was close to equalizing after a few minutes on the field. Instead, the visitors extended their lead after a quarter of an hour of play in the second half.

Once again, the attack came from the right flank, and once again it was Scamaka who slotted the ball into the net. Charles de Kittilari stepped in, and when Scamaka was left completely unmarked on the field, he scored two goals wide in delicious fashion:

11 minutes before the end of normal time, Salah scored what he thought was a penalty for Liverpool, but the goal was canceled due to offside.
