Last week, Ada Hegerback returned against Häcken after a 21-month injury nightmare. And on Thursday evening, she got new minutes against Benfica in the Champions League in her first home game after recovering.

Lyon led 5-0 when Ada Hegerberg was substituted midway through the second half.

Barely ten minutes later, Hegerberg was very close to increasing the lead to 6-0, but the super striker’s attempt was stopped by the Benfica goalkeeper Letizia’s finger.

In overtime, Hegerberg increased by 25 metres. The ball was in fine shape, but was again stopped by Leticia, who got on her tiptoes and hit a corner kick.

The French big club won 5-0 after two goals from Qadisha Buchanan and one goal each by Daniel van de Donk, Melvin Mallard and Katrina Makario.

Champions League holders Barcelona started with Caroline Graham Hansen and Ingrid Serstad Engin in a tough home win against Koj. Fridolina Rulfo scored the first goal before Jennifer Hermoso made it 2-0 on penalties in overtime. Graham Hansen was named best of the course.

– The first half was tough. We didn’t play like we usually do and we agreed. We made it a little difficult for ourselves. In the second half, the movements were better, and we did the simple things better. Then came the scoring opportunities. I have to pay tribute to Kog, who fought back and made it difficult for us, says Caroline Graham Hansen in an interview with European Football Association (UEFA).

Frida Manum played the entire match for Arsenal in the 4-0 win over Hoffenheim.
