Take better aerial photos on the flight

A trip is a great opportunity to take different vacation photos. With room in a window seat and a mobile companion is ready. But when you look at the photos after that, the disappointment comes. The pictures are not as close to the quality as I had hoped.

Here you will get some good tips that will make your next trip photos so much better.

Of course, the tips can also be used when taking photos with a built-in or system camera.

The better the camera and lens, the higher the chance of taking good pictures that you can be proud of.

And to make sure you get the seat you want, it’s smart to pay a few extra kroner to reserve the seat when you book your ticket.

But, remember to do an extra check at check-in, because the aircraft type may have changed since you made your reservation – hence it is not certain that you were allowed to keep the seat you paid for.

Also, remember to put the phone in airplane mode before the plane takes off. Then it is ready for photography.

10 smart tips

1) Wipe the camera lens well so that you can remove fingerprints.

2) Find the best seat that gives a clear view. This is either in the first or last rows of the level. If you sit in the middle of the plane, the wing takes up a good portion of the view.

3) If you are right-handed: It is preferable to sit in the left row of windows. That is, the seat with the letter “A” in it, it is now easier to sit well while bending naturally at the window. If you are left-handed, the right row of windows is best.

4) Bring a dry cloth/tissue with which to wipe the window.

5) Try to make the viewfinder as central to the window as possible. This will prevent blurring in the sides of the window.

6) Try to avoid the backlight from the sun, unless you want to photograph the sunrise or sunset. Fly south at sunrise, then get the sun from the left side. Likewise, if you fly north at sunset.

7) Avoid lights in the aircraft cabin that are reflected in the aircraft window. You can avoid this by pulling the “curtain” into the window and thus making the window as small as possible.

8) Use a jacket to cover the entire window and make sure you and your camera are between the window and the jacket. Then you release the reflector from the cabin. This is especially important when it is dark outside and bright inside the cabin.

9) Take plenty of photos and don’t be afraid to include the wing or the engine on the plane as a reference in terms of what you see on the ground.

10) Try to get a horizontal horizon. Makes the picture quieter.
